Laura is a Melbourne based costume designer and maker who has been designing and creating clothes since childhood. With a background in both psychology and fashion design influencing her practice, Laura is passionate about the importance of costume in character construction and its use as an emotive narrative device in contemporary film and theatre. After completing her studies in design realisation (specialising in costume) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2015, she spent two years working under a theatrical tailor in London making costumes for various companies including The Royal Opera House, The English National Opera, The English National Ballet, The Royal Ballet and The Metropolitan Opera. Since returning to Australia Laura has been designing set and costume for theatre, making costumes for theatre and film/tv and art directing and styling for television commercials and music videos.
